ENERGY ACADEMY

ENERGY ACADEMY is a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE (COE) Spa, the first in Malaysia to be accredited by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC).

 

Center of Excellence (COE) Spa Therapist Training program was introduced by MOTAC to develop local expertise while giving new career opportunities to Malaysian youth. It also aims to regulate the spa industry and to reduce the dependency on foreign therapists, which will no longer be supported starting 1st January 2017.

 

Eligibility

It is open to those aged 18 to 40 years.

 

Duration of Training

This programme consists of two parts:

• Theory - 3 months

• Practical training at spa premises - 9 months

 

Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees will be a certified spa therapist and obtain Malaysian Skill Certificate (Level 3) from the Department of Skills and Development, Ministry of Human Resources.

 

Trainees will also assured employment for at least 12 months to ensure they can practice their skills and able to contribute to the spa industry. Students who commissioned as skilled workers are also likely to be placed in the spa and wellness organization in cooperation with the Spa Association of Malaysia (AMSPA).

 

Scholarship Opportunities

MOTAC provides statutory funding as financial aid towards your studies. As a prospective student, you can apply through the Online Application Form of the Spa Apprenticeship Program. All applicants will be required to undergo a interview process to determine their eligibility for financial aid.
